sometimes dogs will bite their legs due to allergies, try calomine lotion. just rub it on your dogs legs or wherever its biting. that works, my dog has allergies

Not always so. He may have fleas, mites, or another skin condition such as allergies, etcc... and should be treated medically by a vet. If, after that, he still continues this odd behavior he may need some re-direction training, at which time you should call a good dog trainer. GL

Do you have enough chew toys for your dog? Sometimes if a dog has nothing to chew on (especially if they have teeth growing in) then they will do what human babies do and chew on something. Weather it's their leg or furniture.
Or it could be a brain problem, my friends dog had a brain problem, and literally chewed off his tail, so now he only has a stump of a tail.

Your dog could have something stuck in his\her leg. You may want to take a closer look. Your dog could also have fleas, ticks or something else bothering him.

My dog does this too. It is from boredom. You should walk your dog more often, and play with him. Just help alleviate his boredom.
