yes I did know that.
I think that banning dogs is the easiest way for so called intelligent politically motivated individuals to pass their personnel agenda's. I have seen bad pits but I always look at the owners first and feel sorry for the dog. My parents had a neighbor who had a very vicious Pit female, the owners admitted to fighting her when she was young and she was responsible for literally tearing apart small dogs across the street, Myself as well as the neighborhood demanded she be put to sleep due to her nature, despite this, I did not ever feel it was her fault. she was simply a product of her owners. Damn the dog for doing what she was asked to do and doing it well. Any other dog breed would be praised.
Very sad indeed. I own a dual registered American Pitbull Terrier and we recently got a rescued Dalmation, male, neutered as is my dog. They are great together but then again, it is responsible ownership and care.
one other thing, to all the ankle biter owners, can you please control your dogs? My daughter is terrified of small dogs because most of them have nipped or attempted to nip at her and I do not care how big they are, they go for the face and do not indicate their intentions till it is to late. those same dogs are everywhere with their owners and the owners think it is so cute when their dog bites. What?
anyway , sorry for the venting. We as bully lovers need to step up and stop the ignorance.

'Pit bull' or 'pitbull' on its possess is a broad term given to most 'bully'-style breeds. This entails the American Pit Bull Terrier(famous below the UKC), American Staffordshire Terrier(well-known beneath the AKC), Staffordshire Bull Terrier, English Bull Terrier, American Bulldog, and several different breeds with that 'bully' look to them. When most persons believe of a 'pitbull', what they are thinking of is surely a fairly contemporary breed known as the 'American Bully'...Which was created by mixing bully-form puppies collectively So, to answer your question, yes, pit bulls are recognized breeds.

I couldn't agree more. Almost all terrier breeds and working dogs are subject to discrimination when the wording of the laws is vague. The fault doesn't rest on the breed, it rests on the uneducated and sometimes neglectful or abusive owner. ANY breed has the potential to be violent, and also to be well adjusted. So much depends on the owners. The dog is trainable ALWAYS, the owner often is not so easy to train.

'Pit bull' or 'pitbull' via itself is a huge term given to maximum 'bully'-form breeds. This includes the yank Pit Bull Terrier(recognized below the UKC), American Staffordshire Terrier(recognized below the AKC), Staffordshire Bull Terrier, English Bull Terrier, American Bulldog, and quite a few different breeds with that 'bully' seem to them. whilst maximum folk think of of a 'pitbull', what they're thinking of is surely a particularly present day breed referred to as the 'American Bully'...which became created via blending bully-form canines at the same time So, to respond to your question, sure, pit bulls are recognized breeds.

Yes, I knew that. The term Pit Bull is used for any dog that has a "locking jaw" by most City Agencies. It is vague & vicious to assume these dogs are ALL killers. It is a shame that people raise them to be killers by torturing them & encouraging them to eat other animals, so unfortunately, all of them (dogs) are paying the price for a group of vicious & ignorant humans. My best friend was a Staf & she will always be a part of me & is in my heart forever. She saved my life & she was taken away for that reason by people who only saw her as a source for money by breeding. It is a curse to have an animal that is so strong mentally, because this makes them & you a bigger target for destruction & pain for people who are just rotten to the core. These dogs are the best judge of character in the world & they cannot be fooled by anyone! They know when a person is up to no good & they let the world know it! That is why they are being destroyed, rather than saved. There are a lot of shady people in this world & they aren't just the owners of the dogs in question!!!

I agree that it is the owners, not the dog. However, when you mention the city of Denver's law-- while I am not an expert on their statute, I would tend to think that if it is indeed vague, there is great room for the dog owner to prevail. As a law student, I can state that laws that are too vague tend to be struck down due to vagueness. Sounds like an excellent opportunity for someone to take a stand. Rather, for numbers to take a stand. Good luck.

I agree with you but owning one of those dog is like owning a gun, It's comes with great responsibility. A bit from a toy breed would only break the skin a little but one of those dogs can break a bone or kill someone.
