Dating is not the same thing as having sex. There is nothing illegal about you spending time with a person who is significantly older than you if your parents approve. What state do you live in? In many states, the age of consent (for sexual relations) is 16. You can research it here: http://www.actwin.com/eatonohio/gay/consent.htm

Statutory rape laws are in place to help parents protect their teenage children. A person has to be reported by someone of having engaged in statutory rape in order to get in trouble. If your parents and the people around you are accepting of your relationship, then no one will likely turn your partner in. There are, fortunately, no bedroom police. Keep it secret until you turn 18.

Huh? I thought you were talking about dating not having sex. Oh, well. If your parents are okay with you having sex with a 22 year old guy then I wouldn't worry too much about him getting into trouble.

Technically he should be dating someone that is on his level and are your parents looney tunes??? Have you ever heard of sexual predators who date young women. Sounds like your boyfriend is a pediphile (however you spell it) to me. You see, you are still playing teen games and he is beyond that state of mind or he should be. I really think your parents should rethink this one, they are TOO open and openin you up to things that you should never learn at this age.

It's rape only if you have sex. If you do and there is a complain, he'll likely do time--hard time. Your parents can't "consent on it" and make anything legal.

1. You are an idiot for dating a 22-year-old when you are 17.

2. He is just using you for sex.

3. Dump him and date someone your own age.
