I`d call spraying water in her face a type of animal abuse !
Do u ever take ur dog outdoors on a leash ? If she lives her entire life confined indoors, no wonder she run out at every chance.Get a collar and leash and start taking ur dog for a walk several times a day. That will satisfy her urge to see what is outside. When she approaches the door when opened, tell her a firm, NO ! She will learn that she can only go out the door when on a leash. If that is her only fault, u should be able to break that habit without obedience training. Show her love, but also show her ur the master. Never physically punish, use ur voice.

NO. Water in the face, think about. You have a small breed, when I think of a small breed dog...I think of a breed that needs to be groomed. Why would you introduce water as punishment?
When are you suppose to spray the dog? After you catch her....do you really think she is going to understand why she is being punished?
People who are clueless about real dog training are experts on 'yank and crank'.....to make it simple......training with punishment. Dog doesn't sit......the choke chain gets pulled up and dog's butt gets slammed into the ground. Not a good way to train.
Your dog runs up the street and a way from you? Give her a reason to come back to you.......it's the recall party. Use whatever your dog responds the best to, toys, treats, verbal praise....to get her to come back to you. Make it game.....start on leash of course.
Door rushing a solid sit/stay cures that issue. It's very easy to train. If you have never trained before, find a good trainer (local dog clubs generally have low cost classes). The major thing about training a dog is what you put into it is what you will get out of it. You have to look at what your biggest issue is......rushing the door.....work hard on what will solve that.
The VERY best thing to do is ALWAYS keep your dog on leash. Even if you have to keep a leash by the front door, that second you take putting on the leash might save her life.

First of all if she isn't obedience trained she needs to be. Enroll her in a class as soon as possible. Not only is this good training for the dog but also for the owner.
Remember,...There are never bad dogs, only bad owners!!! It is never the dog's fault that it is behaving this way. The dog is only doing what it is allowed to get away with. You have to show her that you are the alpha "dog" in her life. Otherwise, she will continue to do things that you do not want her to do. If she continues on this path she will eventually get hit by a car or worse.
If you love her take her to obedience classes. It's good for both of you!!

I have always been of the opinion that negative reinforcement (i.e., spraying water in the dog's face) is not an effective method of training...especially if you want the dog to like you.
You need to become the "pack leader," it takes training for you and acceptance by the dog.

If you want to encourage her running away, by all means spray water in her face. I suppose you'd come to someone if you knew they were mad at you? Dogs do not come to people if they know they are going to be punished. Take your dog to obedience so someone can teach you how to train her before she gets hit by a car!!

Spraying her in the face will not alter that. Would you continue to run away, if you are being punished? I believe so.
She needs training. The basic commands of "sit" and "stay". Put a baby gate up before opening the door, to prevent her from getting out, or put her in a completely other room until the door is closed again.

The first thing you do is put the dog on a lead whenever you are going to open the door. The second thing you do is teach the dog to sit. The third thing you do is teach the dog that it is never OK to go through the door before you do. Now since you went through the door first and the dog is on lead, it probably isn't going to run away.
