I get very very nervous just thinking about it (first test!) how can I calm my nerves now/on the day of the test/and during the test?

I was tempted to get pills from the doctor to stop my nerves but have decided against it. Other than Rescue Remedy (Tried it, didn't work) what can I get from a health food shop or whatever?

Or just give me ideas on stopping my nerves! Thank you!

I know how you feel. I have my 5th test on saturday.
Every time i fail because of nerves.

Personally for me Rescue Remedy helps. But seeing as it doesn't for you, i would suggest calms. They are a herbal remedy, amd do help.

Take nice slow deep breaths. Very important to control your breathing. Because when anxious your breathng increases.

Eat a banana 1 hour before yor test. It is meant to calm u down ??

Good luck. You will be fine. And nice deep breaths.

i know how you feel! when i had a driving test i was freaked out, and it only got worse as it got closer. when it was time to take it i was shaking, luckly the tester was nice and told me what someone told him to do when he took his, he said tell yourself that you already failed it. then just drive. this may sound dumb but it worked!! once you just say to yourself that you failed you have nothing more to be nervous about becasue well you "failed" i did this it calmed me down and i passed with flying colors, or you could try not caring if you do well or not and it will calm you down, many people do worse on something if they are trying to do good. i hope i was somewhat helpful!

just go driving around with who ever has been teaching you or anyone that has a full liecence and ask them not to say anything to you unless your going to cause an accident . ask them to keep track of your mistakes and then at the end tell you how you did.
do that until your relaxed and not making mistakes.
oh and stop refering to it as first test call is get licence day

Stay away from any drinks or foods that contain caffeine - caffeine will only increase your anxiety. Try setting aside some time to do something you enjoy to relax you before your test.

A little nervousness is probably good, it will keep you on your toes.

Good Luck!!

DL,

Deep breathing. Avoid caffine at all costs and PRACTICE in a parking lot BEFORE you get there. Practice practice practice.

Visualize the outcome. That is proven to decrease anxiety.

Good luck.

Try and think about something else that is more relaxing. Thinking about the subject will make you more concious of it.
