British law does not prohibit a British national being a citizen of another country as well. If you become a Russian national you will not lose, nor will you be required to give up, your British citizenship. Note: This only applies if you are a full British citizen (not a British Overseas National, British Protected Person etc.)
You will have to check whether Russian law allows citizens to be a national of another country too, as it may well require you to renounce your British citizenship.
But, under international law, a State may not give diplomatic protection to one of its nationals in a country whose citizenship that person also holds. So, if you hold both British & Russian citizenship and go to a British embassy in Russia, they will not be able to assist you.

I do not think so. I think the only people who can have dual nationality/citizenship are children, for example, if they have an American mother and say an English father, they can have both an American passport and an English passport. However once the child becomes 18 years old, this ceases and they must choose which nationality / citizenship they wish to take. The thinking behind it being that you cannot hold true loyalty to more than one country

I believe that the UK does not recognise that kind of dual citizenship. If you become a Russian citizen, you might well lose the right of abode in the UK. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure about this but I have a strong feeling I have seen it in official information.

Both countries have to allow it. The British, in principle, allow dual citizenship but I am sure that there are occasions when they won't. I don't know about Russia.
