Don't ever force your child to eat anything that she doesn't like!!!
Here's how to gradually introduce new foods, or foods she isn't comfortable with (like eggs):
*Don't make a big deal out of the food when you cook it. Calmly say, "We're having eggs for dinner tonight" and leave it at that. If she complains, ignore it.
*Serve several other foods, including one other protein source for her to choose from. (I always told my kids they needed to eat at least three of the foods on the table, which gave them a pretty balanced meal if I included enough fruits, veggies, grains and proteins)
* If you want your daughter to eat eggs, try serving them in different forms... scrambled, fried, hard boiled. Bake them in quiches and stratas. Try serving them with different condiments... some people like eggs with ketchup or salsa. Add cheese, onions, peppers. (Or take these away if that's how you usually make them)
*Finally, remember that you may have to serve eggs dozens of times (or more!) before your daughter shows any interest. She may not like eggs until she is an adult. Or perhaps she never will like them.
The important thing is to prepare enough variety in your well-balanced meals so that she doesn't need to rely on eggs as her only source of protein.

Why does your five-year-old need to eat eggs? There are plenty of other foods with protein and other nutrients like eggs have. There are some things I don't like and don't eat and I think kids should have the same privilege. I would never force my kids to eat anything they don't like, but I'm not going to make them something special, either. So let's say I made eggs, toast, and fruit for breakfast. The child can eat whatever he wants of those things but isn't getting anything different.

Read Green Eggs and Ham to him/her, and use food color to cook the eggs.
My mom used to make scrambled eggs that smelled and tasted horrible. I learned a better way to cook them when I got older--very hot pan, butter, and keep them moving. Kids like little single sized servings--you could use a cookie cutter to cut a shape out of a piece of bread, then cook and egg inside the bread.
There are other foods that are just as healthy, just in case she never likes eggs.

We make "cheesy" eggs (basically just a cheese omelet) and both my 6 year old and 2 year old love it. Try scrambling some of his favorite things into it. (ie: ham, mushrooms, whatever he likes) and see if he will eat it that way. Try ketchup or try making a smiley face with scrambled eggs and try that.

why? eggs are wonderful, but she may not be ready. some things are an acquired taste. Let her be. Besides, think of the cholesterol levels she doesn't have building up in her system if she does not eat eggs!

Don't! Different foods really do taste differently to different individuals. Aren't there certain foods you don't like? My kids like some things I don't like and I like some things they don't like. This is not something to make a conflict over. There are many other good sources of protein...meat, cheese, dairy products.
