Positively DO NOT go to freecreditreport.com - you are signing up for a service that will cost you money.

You can go to www.freecreditreport.com
depending on what state you live in....most states allow 2 free copies a year without adding to your points on your credit report. You can go to www.creditreport.com that is the web site for Equifax.

After seeing that someon marked this as thumbs down.. I thought I would add something, freecreditreport.com has a free 30 day trial...and I didn't pay anything. But, if you choose not to do that you can call Equifax at 1-800-685-1111, like I mentioned in most states you get 2 free credit reports a year. Call them and ask for a FREE credit report and they will send you one. Depending on what state you live in, you might want one of the other three credit reporting agency's phone numbers. But this is a GREAT start.

http://www.annualcreditreport.com

this is the only site where it's free, without requiring you to sign up for something. You'll get reports from all three agencies.

By law, the three main agencies have to provide you with one free report per year.
