A comforter is like a thin quilt, two sheets stitched together with some filling in between.
The filling can be anything, a down comforter is one with a down filling. Down is feathers from the underbelly of a goose, known to be very very soft and light.

Its a quilt/duvet type blanket filled with goose or chicken down feathers. Its probably the warmest thing you can sleep under. If You have one(lucky you!) purchase a duvet cover to fit it so the down doesn't wind up all over your house.

The down of birds is a layer of fine feathers found under the tougher exterior feathers. Very young birds are clad only in down. Down is a fine thermal insulator and padding, used in goods such as jackets, bedding, pillows and sleeping bags.

Hi. It is a bed covering (like a quilt) filled with the soft, lightweight feathers from the underside of fowl, usually ducks.
