Not by our so called leaders they are so far out of touch with America its not funny. Put the issue to a popular vote?

Hell yes! We are the ones being affected by illegal immigration, so we should decide what to do about it. The ones who disagree know that they would lose. They see the poll results on websites and news channels, and realize that most citizens are for deporting illegals and against amnesty.

It Will Be Decided By WE THE PEOPLE

Do You THINK For One Second
That WE THE PEOPLE
Will ALLOW Our "so called leaders"
To Run Over Us On This Issue ??

If You Do, You Are Surely Mistaken

There Will Be NO AMNESTY

There WILL Be A Barrier At The Border

There WILL Be More And More Laws Passed
Denying Housing And Jobs To ILLEGAL ALIENS

There WILL Be A Massive Deportation
On The Scale NEVER Before Seen In History

And

There WILL Be Violence And Bloodshed
Before It's All Said And Done

How's THAT For A Popular Vote ?

It will be decided by the people especially when they take the time to learn who is for illegals and who is not then the public will vote in those that share the views that they have and it will be a majority that elects those people and right now the country 65% wants something done about illegals so election results will soon be people in power that do intend to do something about illegals if they want a political life past one election.

Angela is right -- and the politicians know it.
Why do you think they made a big deal out of authorizing the building of a 700-mile fence, but then didn't allocate any money to actually do it? So they could *look* like they cared about immigration, but put off doing anything until after the election. And now, since immigration wasn't an issue at all in the election, you can pretty much bet the fence is dead. Even more so since they recently upped the estimate of the cost to build it from $8 billion to over $30 billion...no way.

The government needs to stop giving all the illegals the incentives they have for coming here in the first place. Refuse them food stamps, welfare, free health care, school tuition, jobs, etc. If we refused them all of these things the illegals would stop coming! It's not supposed to be this difficult America! Refuse them the services they are not supposed to have in the first place!! If our government doesn't get their heads outta their a**** soon it's time for a civil war again.

If we the people could come up with a plan a blueprint for what we see as common sense and rational redistribution of wealth and resources and availability....a very complex idea and solution.... sometimes I think a class of junior high school kids could come up with better answers. A Progressive groundswell is erupting again just as it did a hundred years ago....

In Arizona all propositions against illegal aliens were passed by the people. I believe that the people of this fine state spoke pretty clear on our disgust with criminals in our State at least. The voice of the people should be heard, democracy is not so lost yet is it?

Absolutely not. The U.S. is a representative democracy - we elect people to represent our interests and they decide the laws. That's the best way, because unfortunately the average American is a completely uninformed moron. Voter turnout is another problem, a popular vote would get the activists on either side to vote, not the majority of people.

Well, remember Nov? It wasn't the major issue Republicans thought it would be.....People voted on other issues.....Primarily the war? Sorry to break it to you, but I don't think many America's care so much about this issue....It was demonstrated during the elections....
