a 10w30 synthetic would be great to lube your engine.and you wont have to change your oil until 5000 miles are on this oil.

initiate with 5W30 and verify to work out what form of oil mileage you get. opposite to prevalent opinion, an engine could use extremely oil. this means the oil is getting alongside the cylinder partitions to lubricate the piston earrings, and so slightly would be burned. If oil intake gets in the direction of a quart according to 500 miles, it's time to circulate as much as 10W30. substitute to a 5W20 or 10W20 in an rather chilly climate (twenty weight), or 40 weight in a particularly heat climate or if the engine has severe placed on and severe oil intake. maximum modern small 4-cylinder engines are made for 5W30.

The grade is determined by the climate you live in as well as the time of year. Oil is like honey.....it is thick when it's cold and thin when it's hot. That's why in the winter you will want a little lighter or thinner oil than in the summer.

Third grade - anything past fourth grade is WAY too educated for a VW, and anything prior to 2nd grade can't even spell viscosity.
