I am thinking about letting my hair rest during the winter months, how can I do the wig cap weave by making my own wig? Will it damage my hair since you are using glue? Serious answers only

Any weave runs the risk of damage to hair - it just depends on how you take care of your hair while you wear the weave and once you remove it. The wig cap weave is less damage when deciding to change styles since you don't have to worry with detaching the bonded hair from your own tresses - however, if you don't take care of your hair while donning the wig cap...you will still experience damage possibly.

There are several ways to make your own wig cap wig. One being directly on your head - the other is using a wig stand.

If you perform the procedure on your head - to protect your own hair you can choose to cover your hair with tissue paper/wrap strips then place the wig cap over the tissue paper. If the wig cap doesn't sit in place - secure it to the tissue paper with small dabs of bonding glue. Next measure out the weaving hair for the nape area of your head and apply the hair with bonding glue. Continue applying the hair to the wig cap from the bottom to the top of the hair style. If necessary blend hair blend hair as your go to complete a natural style pattern. Once you reach the top/crown area - continue adding the hair to the wig cap (depending on your selected style this is best achieved by working in a circular pattern) - check for loose pieces and secure them with bonding glue.

If you use a wig stand it is basically the same procedure minus the tissue paper. Since its on a headstand you don't necessarily need the tissue paper. Attach the wefted hair along the wig cap as it rests on the wig stand - make sure all pieces/glued sections are dry before placing on top of your head - then cut and style.

For extra hold - use a hair dryer on the glued pieces for a few seconds to secure a tight hold with the glue.

Good luck.

I think you should get the wigcap. but I'm not so sure about it damaging your hair. Its possible. Isnt there anything else to use besides glue? glue would defintaly damage it.
