I believe that repeated use of antibiotics in a short period of time is extremely dangerous. It makes you much more susceptible to diseases. Foreign scientists always say that Americans take antibiotic usage too far and are at risk of getting superbugs (things that antibiotics cannot kill). I would say that living a healthful lifestly would be key to getting back your immune system strength. Proper diet is extremely important. Also, exercise is essential. And lastly, if you have taken too many antibiotics in too short of a period of time, I would say that time is imporatant. Give your body time to build up its defenses again.

All of the above are true. Over use of antibiotics is a danger in many ways. However it of itself will not "damage" your immune system. The yogurt advise and the vitamin is good. Eating a good diet, getting exercise and good rest is the best of all. I am a little leery of the Zinc. It is a trace element and I think you would get plenty of it in your diet. You can add a generic multivitamin. Go for the cheapest one you can find. Nobody fowls up vitamins. Try to avoid health food shops

Echinacea helps boost the immune system, so does vitamin C with bioflavinoids. Taking anti biotics too often damages your body and throws your bodies chemical balance off. I only use anti biotics in emergencies, and the last time I took any anti-biotic was 4 years ago. If you find yourself ill, there is an herb called "Golden Seal", that is a natural anti biotic, and some companies mix the golden seal with the echinacea in one pill to help you fight off the infection while strengthening your immune system at the same time.

Antibiotics destroy bacteria, including the good bacteria in your stomach. Eat plenty of probiotic yoghurt (live yoghurt) to help replace the good bacteria.
Try to avoid antibiotics as much as possible and only take them as a last resort. Eat plenty of fresh fruit (especially citrus) and vegetables to keep your vitamin levels high and boost your immune system.

no, antibiotics as such does not ruin ur immune system directly, oral antibiotics usually kill normal flora of gut which is very imp for synthesis of some vitamins like vit-k, so on prolong use deficiency of these vit appear like oral ulcers, or other unnatural bacterias grow in gut which can cause diarrhea. best thing is to avoid self medication even vitamins because they are also dangerous for prolong use.
best thing is to start good diet like eggs including yolk, milk, meat, yogurt, short course of mulivitamin or b-complex can be tried for 5-7 days one tab daily. for herbs i have no idea, our body have got such a good mechanism that it tries to correct every thing by it self, u just start a good diet, aviod sugar rich food and fried, good diet it self is cure and prevention to every thing, it got every vitamin and herbs in natural form.

Yeah probiotics can make your immune system weak and cause stomach problems its because it kills the good bacteria as well as the bad. Probiotics help to restore good bacteria. They have that yogurt activa that has beneficial bacteria or just get the pills like culturelle. Also zinc lozenges help build up your immune system.

Taking antibiotics kills the bad bacteria as well as the good bacteria, so when on antibiotics eat yogurt with acidophilus in it any live culture bacteria to keep your bowels from abtaining a infection.
