The lumps your doctor refers to are called lipomas (benign fatty tumours) but they're not usually multiple nor life threatening. If they aren't lipomas the fact that they sometimes itch could possibly indicate some form of systemic allergic reaction. Two years is a significant period for untreated cancer sufferers so if it was something more serious like a melanoma, chances are you would have developed metastatic disease by now. That means a blood borne spread of cancer cells to other major organs.
Ask your GP to refer you to a consultant.

I am a student Nurse and i would say that you should seek further advice off your same doctor and say your not happy if they try fob you off or see another doc or nurse even!
They sound like skin lesions or Melenomas which are a form of skin cancer.... not to worry tho its only a suggestion! but if you are worried then i would go seek advice! if they where boils like other people have said then they would be wart like but rounder not lumpy and above the skin level. If they are subcutanious (just under the skin) then it can be serious and I would class it as urgent and get it seen to!
I however am not qualified as yet but i can see from my knowledge so far that it sounds wuite serious so get it sorted! I am however giving my opinion and NOT a medically trained advice.... so i will leave it up to you! This link may help you! Hope you sort it and are ok!

I sometimes get a lump under one of my arms under the skin. It comes up to the size of a 50p but it soon goes away when i take some Ibrobphen (cant spell it) lol. I went to my doctor who said it was a cyst and would away natrually. I only get it every now and again and it can be quite painful at times.
I would defo get a 2nd opinion mate. Surely you shouldnt have to live with them like that

It's probably a fat deposit in one of your glands. Nothing you can do about it, and it's not going to hurt you. It could also be a plugged duct, in which case warm compresses and massage would help. It could also be the beginning of a ganglion cyst - which would just need to be watched. Usually, they come up and go down though - slightly bigger each time they come up. On the bone, could be the soft tissue beginning of a bone spur. That could get painful later as it thickens up with more bone cells, but would be easy to scrape off if caught early. I'd get this verfied by a doctor, of course. Could be lots of benign things.

Contact NHS Direct NOW!!!
I would have liked to know details such as your gender, age, dietary preferences, any drug use - legal or controlled. Have these details ready when you phone or e-mail them, but do it now!!!
Tell them you've been asking your question on line and that a paramedic has advised immediate contact.
Don't wait for another reply - I don't think many Doctors of Medicine use Yahoo Answers.

Yeah I would get a second opinion because sounds like to me that what ever you have is spreading and is causing some issues will circulation since you are experiencing numbness.

Absolutely. Go to a Dermatologist.. Even is they are lypomas(fat tumor) you have way too many over too little time. Something is going on and it is not good. Get second, third, fourth opinions until someone does something about it....Good luck and God speed.....

I don't know what they could be but YES get a second opinion! Also do some surfing the net and check out web md and a few other reputable health sites. But please don't diagnose yourself. See a doctor just to be sure all is well.
wishing you the best. :)

I knew a girl who had this problem She told me they were deposits of fat. I would ask your doctor again and ask him to arrange a second opinion and removal if you want to be rid of them.
