M.Ps Never get the many four day weekends we get in the military. They work on Holidays and have 12 Hour Shifts. But they do have alot of power like a PVT giving a Full bird Colonel a Ticket which usually makes there days. But many M.Ps seem to enjoy there job. Currently M.Ps Companys are on a more High OP-tempo meaning they are being deployed more often then regular Divisions. Infantry Units go to the field alot in the states and many lower enlisted grunts get stuck with alot of work details but they do get to enjoy there 4 day weekends unless they are deployed. So depending on your liking for being outdoors in the elements. Infantry always out there. M.Ps in garrison (not deployed) get to roll in Impalas and stay warm. Your choice.

Depends on what you want to do. do you want to be specialized in combat? or do you want to do law enforcement?

Military police is almost the same as local enforcement, except its on base, or in the streets of Iraq. Military polices have a little more training than infantry men because they patrol, and they have the ablility to possibly go out of the military and enter as a police officer.

Infantry just means that if there is a war crisis going on somewhere, you'll be shipped off, and you'll be iin the front lines fighting, where as the military police stays at checkpoints, bases ect.

Both groups are preforming the same duties within the last 5 years in the military. THey are running short on trained MP's so now the regular infantry is filling in. Both are combat arms and both equaly dangerous, although I'd say MP's are more likely to be deployed to urban wars.
MP's are ideally trained to do just that be police officers in the military and take prisoners. The infantry is more trained to be your typical grunt ground soldier.

In what context?
Never had any dealings with the MPs or SPs as I was in the Navy.
My son loves the Army and went straight infantry , now he's an Army Ranger sergeant .
Loves the daily grind - hates even the idea of a desk and paperwork.

MP won't help you on becoming a cop, it is way way different than civilian cops. A lot of departments don't like to hire former MP's because they get different training and they get used to doing things the military way.

Anyone who is in the military can become a cop after, as long as u were in the military. But anyways, i say go Infantry and become the best of the best. "I am the Infantry, follow me"

I would go in as Infantry, but I think MP would be better if you want to leave and become a police officer...

Well, I was an MP for three years enlisted, and an Infantry Officer later. They're different. What would you like to know? You can email me if you like, but I'm not about to tell you my life story in hopes of answering your questions.

It depends. If you want to be a cop then being an MP is the way to go. Once you leave the service, the head hunters from various police forces will start talking to you.

Infantry. The Infantry are the tip of the sword. Their mission is to close with, fix, and then finish the enemy.
