They can vary greatly. You could have some or all or a combination of symptoms. A Dr should be consulted if you think you may be depressed.
* Feeling sad or blue
* Loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities
* Significant weight loss or weight gain
* Inability to sleep or excessive sleeping
* Agitation or irritability
* Fatigue or loss of energy
* Feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt
* Thoughts of death or suicide
You may have physical aches and pains which appear to have no physical cause, such as back pain.
It's this wealth of depression symptoms, and the broad scope that confuses many people as to what depression actually is. Explanations rarely cover all the symptoms, and everybody's experience is different.

losing interest in the things that you used to enjoy
over sleeping or under sleeping
over eating or under eating
general feeling of sadness (worthlessness, hoplessness)
fatigue
I am bi-polar, and so I would go from extreme highs to extreme lows all the time, so I never sought treatment for my depresssion thinking it would just go away. I suffered for years when I didn't have to. There are medications which can really help and if you think you might need help I would go to the doctor and see about it. It's not worth suffering if you don't have to. Good luck.

Not eating, being tired, moody,body fatigue, since of loss, not wanting to be close to others.Feeling sad all the time, crying at the drop of a hat. Talking with someone does help to get you out of the not feeling so well funk. You can go to any church or local group for free w/ people going through the same thing. Hope this helps. :)

i can tell you what my symptoms are: always tired, you don't want to go anywhere or do anything, you withdraw from friends and family, headaches, always feel down on yourself, you don't want to take care of yourself, neck, and shoulder pain. and last thing is you never look forward to anything. it could be your wedding day and you feel the same as any other day. you just don't get excited about anything.
