There's too many words. Stop! Gosh.
There's too much going on already and now we're going to stress on learning new words that random people made up, and then pretty soon new meaning will be added to those words and then we'll be confused and stuff whenever someone talks.

Because languages keep evolving, and so does the way people express themselves. I think our language/way we talk pretty much reflects our background/social status, etc.
I think people try and find equivalent words to some already existing because the original one might feel too foreign/inappropriate to them. Teenagers in particular feel the need to make up a whole new vocabulary so that they're not related in any way to their parents/grandparents, and it makes them feel part of a group, they have something amongst them that adults can't be a part of.
We've all done when we were younger and it's going to keep happening, and that's the beauty of languaes. That's wny learning languages is so interesting, there is no one right answer, there are choices and you are truly fluent when you know when and where to use one or the other.

Fuct, that is called evolution of a language. It is inevitable. Languages are constantly adding new words and not using others, that eventually are not used anymore. The problem in english is that you have no authority to filter these words and set rules to put order in this mess.
In Spanish we have the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, that is located in Madrid. They control all of the above and dictate what is correct and what is not

Hey Fuct
Language is dynamic!
There will always be new words being added to our vocabulary.
Some are based on celebrities.
Pardon me but who would have though that the word 'bootylicious' would be added to an English Dictionary?
Just because celebs such as Snoop Dog, Beyonce etc used it in their songs. I can't think of others. I wonder when it will stop.

As with many languages, The spoken word or text will for ever change as long as we are all different. We borrow words from one language and another to create our own group "slang". Not to be left out, Dictionaries feel is necessary to keep us up to date on changes in your world.
The main thing here, everyone wants to be different, and to accomplish this they create words like "yo".
Nothing more then lazy talk if you ask me.
P.S. Will "yo" ever wind up in the Webster Dictionary?.. only time will tell.

Our world, our technology, and our understanding and perceptions of life are all changing every moment of every day. The only way to keep up with all this change, to be able to describe it and understand it and grow with it, is to add to our language. If we stop adding words to our lexicon, we stop growing.

The only languages that never change are dead languages.

They are not spoken anymore so they have stopped changing. English keeps changing because we all find new ways to describe our lives. Besides the english language adopts lost words from every other language because they sound different.

Our lexicon is constantly evolving. It is a perpetually changing landscape. Just because a dictionary is published today, not one says that's all there is to it.
