Neither......? Amsterdam is so much more than just drugs & prostitution in the first place and this is usually the attraction just for people to boast they have "done Amsterdam" based on the stereotypical myths So getting down to facts - as mentioned, prostituion is legal in many countries, Germany, Greece, Belgium, Austria, Denmark (and those are the ones from the top of my head), so not really a big deal There are not "legal" drugs. Magic mushrooms were made illegal 01/Dec 2008. Marijuana is not legal (yes really) but sales are 'tolerated' under certain conditions. Other drugs are stictly illegal and acted on by the police stringently. The policies are made at national level and Amsterdam does not have special laws from the rest of the country. It is a city full of culture, art, museums, sights, attractions etc, good shopping, great nightlife, a multitude of restaurants and bars and so on. It is a really pretty city on top of that, a small one (for a European capital) which you can amble around by foot, bike or water and enjoy visually....... as I said, so much more than just drugs and prostitutes EDIT - "Irishgirl" is exactly the kind of tourist which Amsterdam can well live without. If she is in to illegal drugs then it is best she stays in her home country. At least when she gets ripped off or needs hospialisation from being given rat poisin, then she is inconveniencing her home authories and not those from another country

well, that is two separate questions...
1. drugs, sorry I don't know
2. prostitution--parts of Nevada (the famous Chicken Ranch Brothel)
The Chicken Ranch is a legal, licensed brothel located about 60 miles west of Las Vegas near the town of Pahrump, in Nye County, at 10511 Homestead Road. The 17 bed brothel sits on 40 acres of land. A separate building, connected to the main house by a breezeway, contains three extensively decorated, themed "bungalows" catering to those customers wishing a more luxurious experience.

The ranch has a collection of memorabilia from the original Chicken Ranch which was located near LaGrange, Texas.

The Chicken Ranch once had a reputation for being pricey; prices start at $100 (the unofficial house minimum), but the average amount for one hour of intercourse and oral sex is about $400. Like most legal brothels in the state, the house receives 50% of that money. Since the purchase of neighboring competitor Sheri's Ranch by its current ownership group, and their subsequent lavish remodeling and expansion of that operation, the "pricey" label has generally been applied by most to that brothel rather than to the Chicken Ranch.

The ranch also houses the Leghorn Bar. The bar has a separate entrance for customers not wishing to enter the brothel parlor.

"Soft" drugs are tolerated in Germany, Prostitution is legal there. Prostituts have health insurance and you will find them in may red light districts of big citys. Also in newspaper ads and the cheap kind you'll find on street corners in bad part of towns.

I'm told marijuana is legal in Canada. As for prostitution, try Greece.
