I'd like to dye my hair back to a dark, rich, chocolate brown.?

Question

Problem: It is bleached a golden blonde with light blonde chunks and I seriously have NO more money to spend at the salon. Do I have to dye my hair red first and then brown? Or just a 'golden brown shade? Last time I went from blonde to brown it had blue and green shades but I think thats because I used an ash brown hue. Help??

If I were you I would wait until you have enough money to get it done at a salon. You never know what is going to happen when you do the box dyes, and its better safe then sorry!

You can go straight to a golden brown shade. DO NOT use the ash brown hue. Been there.. done that.. hair turned grey. ok.. if you want to be 100% positive that your dye will work, get a color-strip kit at wal-mart. They are about $7 and then get your golden-brown dye. The color-strip kit will remove all the color from your hair. I find that it works amazingly well. Unfortunely it's kinda scary cuz you're hair turns orange for a while!! hahaha.. but that's normal. Then you can dye your hair your brown color and it will turn out just fine. Good luck!

ya never get ash it will turn a greenish color um..i just went from bleach blonde and natuarally i have dark hair so i had dark roots and didnt have money to get them back to blonde so i bought 2 boxes of cheap colorsilk hairdye and dyed it but get brown black or dark brown only..dont get ash brown or golden brown..but ya my hair was fried with the blonde and i did it dark and now it looks nice and healthy..so u can def do that.but just go once a month and get ur ends clipped so ur hair will grow faster and u wont have any dead ends which make split ends.hope i helped.

yeah it sounds like u dye ur hair too often. u shud wait till ur natural hair grows before u put anymore chemicals on ur hair.
