I have to do research on Hairstyling products & techniques and Permanent Hair Waves was one of the the examples to be included. I have no idea what a permanent hair wave is, and need help in classifying it into physical or chemical. Please Help. Thanks

permanent waves are a chemical change as the solution changes the di-sulphure bonds in your hair. whilst heat ie curling wands etc. only break down the hydrogen bonds so is a physical change

Its chemical, because you use chemicals - as opposed to when you wave your hair and dry it on curlers - thats physical.. because when you wet it the curls disappear (its temporary)

Does that help?
