If you were to get married in gretna green would wedding banns have to be posted in the town of gretna...

They do not have to be posted in the same way as in England. You can go there just a couple of days in advance and get it all sorted then get married...;

I was under the impression that they don't need to be posted to get married in Gretna, but they must do I suppose. But is it for a shorter time mabie ?

Hi there yes they do and it is the 6 week process may i suggest you also book the anvil ceremony as the register office service is very disapointing.. Oh and do the piper as it is lovely i got married there 8 years ago go the hunters lodge hotel is a stones throw away from the register office and it is fab there and there are loads of places to have photos

If you are meaning to get wed in the Blacksmiths Shop over the anvil it can usually be done the same day but for it to be made legal you have to go through the due process of law.
