Multi-room is dependant upon the two boxes being connected 24hrs a day to the same phoneline, so no, not really.
I did spend some time away from home so i took one box with me, and just took the box back and plugged it in about once a month, forcing it to do a 'call-back' whilst i was there, so it connected to sky and all was good.
However, eventually, this was spotted by sky, and they wrote many letters demanding full payment for two seperate boxes.
Also, u cannot take the card and put it into any box, because the sky systems 'pair' your card and box using a 'call-back' during installation.
Simple answer, maybe, but only for a short time and it's really not worth the hassle!!!

It could be possible if you physically put a wire from the sky box to the House but i think 90 miles of cable is a bit long!

You will need a telophone point by both sky set-top's. You only need to connect both boxes for 1 year after subscription starts, but when not conneced yo the phone line you will not be able to ues all intirative parts. Sky will install telophone cable to the second box they will charge you for this and a high cost per m of wire. I would surgest getting a telophone extension cable and puttung it in your self - would be the cheapest way.

There is no reason not to. I take mine to Central France so I have English programmes to watch whilst over there.
And, I take the card from downstairs that has the movie channel on it to watch movies in bed on my freeview box.

No I think it's because both of your boxes will be connected to the same telephone line and satellite dish
