I have had some bacardi 151 sitting in the fridge mixed with orange juice, in an open cup for about a week...just vodka and oj...is it still okay to drink it, or have some weird microbes formed in it? it looks and smells fine. just asking if something like that can be left open and not spoil. thanks.

Based on your answers, I will assume that the alcohol has evaporated, and thus no longer has the antibacterial properties it probably would have if it were left closed. Thanks for your advice.

I think you should throw it away, but probably not because of the reason you're thinking of...
First off, Bacardi 151 is a rum, not a vodka; but that's not really important. The important part is that %76 of it is alcohol. Even diluted with orange juice, it should still be highly effective at killing pretty much any organism that touches that glass. I'm sure there are people who leave glasses of orange juice in the fridge for a week (without alcohol mixed in) and drink it without any harmful side effects. So it should be completely safe to drink.
However, during that week it probably soaked up lots odors that were floating around: cooked fish, chopped onions, fresh garlic, creamed corn, or whatever there happens to be in your fridge. All those odors are going to give that oj & rum an unpleasant, or downright disgusting taste... so I'd throw it out for that reason.

surely no longer! He don't have something like that till 6 months previous, or maybe then, i would not do juice! I by no ability supply my 14 month previous juice. I permit him have small sips of water beginning at 4 months. Now that he's not breastfeeding anymore he has somewhat some water throughout the time of the day, yet till now that I purely nursed him each and every time he became thirsty. you're able to do the comparable element with formula too. A 2 week previous don't have water. this is surely risky! it may get their electrolytes off stability. And juice is crammed with sugar and has little nutritional fee, incredibly no longer for a 2 week previous. All he desires is formula or breastmilk.

well, bacadi is rum for one thing, and the alcohol has probably evaporated, you shouldnt leave uncovered things in the fridge its bad for them and the fridge, but if it looks fine, and there isnt a bunch of other rotten stuff in there, go for it. Its probably no worse than drinking 151 is for you.

As long as it has been refrigerated it should be fine.
We had Jungle juice in our fridge for like 6 weeks, drank it and it was FINE (we were not, after about 4 glasses... but that WAS the point.. LOL)

The alcohol will kill just about anything. It's a preservative that even keeps dead animals intact for any length of time at room temperature.

The juice would have formed bacteria in it even though it's in the cold. I wouldn't drink it.....unless you want to see an orange fountain in front of the "porcelain alter".
