My vet always told me to have hydrogen peroxide on hand in case my dog eats something he shouldn't, eg. like a mushroom outside. A capful in a small dog will make him throw up. If it's something caustic then you should give them milk. I imagine the pills have already been absorbed into his system. That's a lot of pills...I hope your dog is going to be okay. Any update?

if you are still concerned ring the vet you saw for further advise. I'm guessing the animals fine in itself or the animal would be admitted for intravenous fluid therapy and monitoring.
that is rather alot of tablets to eat.... very worrying. if ill ring the surgeon again.
soda crystals are standard use in veterinary centres to induce vomiting and are perfectly OK to use. the crystals are vomited up usually so quickly that the crystals would do no harm. other meds are used as well but the vet obviously felt this was the best method.
weird the animal did not vomit. depending on how long the animal ingested them the drug could have been absorbed before vomiting was induced.
as a general rule we don't pump their stomachs like in humans.
i would monitor him closely for signs of nausea, discomfort, vomiting, diarrhoea, neurological signs etc and ring vet if worried.

Whether he should have had his stomach pumped depends how far the tablets were into his digestive system by the time you got him to the vet.
You should keep soda crystals as part of your first aid kit. But you should also know when and when NOT to use them - you don't make a patient vomit up something caustic.

I can't tell you if your dog will be fine. I do not know her medical history or how much she weighs. I don't know how much of the pill she has eaten. And there is no way to tell if her system has absorbed any of the medication. Do you really believe it is only sugar she has ingested? I would contact your vet, NOW. If your vet is unavailable there is poison control or at the very least call Walgreens. I know they are not vet techs but you will get the sense of urgency that this situation actually is. Don't rely on others saying "she'll be fine" because you don't know that nor do they.

Why is he still not at the vet getting his stomach pumped now? He should've had the charcoal mixture pumped in his stomach to induce vomiting. Go to a different vet and get your pet the care he deserves.

Why on earth did you leave them where the dog can get them ?That's so irresponsible.Get the poor thing seen by another vet now and find your dog another home with someone responsible.
