Maybe you should talk to your doctor because that can be a sign of diabetes. If so diabetes can be very easy to deal with especially with the new technology to check your insulin.

There could be many reasons. Though sometimes when I am really thirsty and drink loads of water I am even more thirsty. Since I started filtering the water this has stopped. But if you are going to the loo more frequently than usual (keeping in mind that you have been drinking more) ring the GP. Could be diabetes

You're still thirsty: is it just your mouth/throat that feels dry? Did you just neck the water down? If so, perhaps you should try sipping the water, or taking it in smaller mouthfuls and holding it for a bit, so it has a chance to moisten the inside of your mouth. Certainly don't knock back any more vast quantities for a while - you've already found that that can be uncomfortable!

i see 2 possibilities

1- You are diabetics see a physicians

2- You are dehydrated. Drinking 10 gallon of water in one shot will not help you. When you feel the thirst i habitually you are already dehydrated. Your body did not loose or gain water instantly. You need to give him couple minute to couple hour to regain full hydration. A mix of 4 oz of water with 1 table spoon of salt and 1oz of orange juice will make a good electrolyte for severe deshydratation.

Are you also tired, lethargic? Do you have sweet smelling breath?

If Is this an on going problem I would go straight to your doctor and ask for a glucose test. Also Lloyds Chemists do a free test but you have to have had no food for at least two hours to get an accurate reading. You could have diabetes and not know about it. The best way to avoid complications is to get it seen to asap. Untreated it can be life-threatening. But don't panic.

Have you been drinking too much booze watching the Scotland rugby game this avo? If so I have little sympathy, if not, it could be that you're just very dehydrated. Don't worry about it. Take a rennie and have an early night. If this goes on for days and you're also weeing a lot more than normal for you, get to your GP and allow him to take tests for diabetes. I'm sure it wont come to that though!XX
