i have been thinking of driving from london to cape town for ages now.......i cant remember exactly who does it, but they certainly are out there......if you search for "carnet du passage" you will get all the info you need on driving outside of Europe and related insurance implications.

I think that you will find that most insurance companies will do this. I have no idea how much it would cost, but even if you have several years no claims I expect it will be pretty expensive .
