Since Muslims follow the ten commandment also l feel I should also give an input to this: here is what Islam says:
Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation for murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land- it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of whole mankind…
Quran Al Maidah Chapter 5 Verse 32
So you can take anothers life in terms of justice. I agree that there will alwys be wars, this is why Islam says:
Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loves not, aggressors
Quran, Al Baqara, Chapter 2 Verse 190

Absolutely. God commanded that the armies invade the enemies & kill all the men, women & children (kind of like Iraq)

Well.... He meant not to kill fellow humans when they didn't do anything. The Bible also says to kill your children if they follow another religion, kill the enemies of war, etc.
Animals don't really count though, because the ten commandments apply to humans. But that doesn't mean you should be cruel to them either.

Actually this is a good commandment... it just needs amending with the centuries.. Thou shalt not kill ... unless it's in defence of your life, if its a terrorist or if it's your spouce's knock off. :)

the original wording was thou shalt not murder. if it was thou shalt not kill, than we would die of starvation, or some air borne virus spread by mosquitoe etc etc etc. survival is not murder
