Sure you can. When my kids were young I put up the tree INSIDE a play pen so the kids couldnt get at it. Or get a small tree and put it up somewhere high so they cant reach it.

Sure you can. Just put the lights and decorations a little bit higher on the tree than you normally would. Make certain you buy a newly cut live tree, so that if a toddler grabs hold of a branch, it will bend. Plus with a live tree, you wont have worry as much about the green stickers falling off.

Yes, but like anything you should be certain to supervise their activities.

Plastic, paper and cloth ornaments are best, but if you use glass ornaments, don't use your best and most expensive ones - and be certain to place them up higher on the tree.

With respect to lights, use the newer LED lights or ones that have covers and won't be hot to the touch. Again, keep the majority of the lights higher up the tree so they are out of reach.

If the tree is very tall or heavy, be certain that either the tree holder is large enough to keep it from tipping, or secure the trunk to a wall with some wire and eyelet or drywall screws.

If possible, either convert the outlet in your wall (where you plan to plug the tree in) to a GFCI outlet, or use a power strip that has that capability built-in to prevent accidental electrocution.

Lastly, and it may seem silly, but be certain to not use a preservative that can harm kids in the tree water (some tree preservatives can make kids very sick if they ingest it).

Happy Holidays & Good Luck!

Of course you can,the little ones will love all the pretty lights and decorations,my children did when they were little. The only thing I would say about decorations,is dont use tiny ones on the tree that could be swallowed, you can buy some nice big ones in high street shops that are just as pretty and colourful.Have a wonderful Christmas and let the little ones enjoy themselves.

i could use clean lighting fixtures - as quickly as I grew up we had actual candles on the actual Christmas tree. human beings went into the wooded area and decrease the superb tree they could discover. The tree reducing grew to become into finished in the morning of Christmas eve.. that they had little snap-on candle holders. i don't understand why I on no account heard of wood or residences burning. We had 2 white candles burning on each window sills. We continually had a white Christmas decrease back then, now it could desire to not snow till January. Tree adorns have been created from paper cutouts and straw figures formed with purple yarn. lighting fixtures out, the clean fragrant tree with the candles burning, the straw sheep and angels in a golden glow, everyone making a music Christmas carols - oh nicely - not something grew to become into ever back as mesmerizing as that grew to become into for a 5 12 months previous. The clean lighting fixtures take me back to the fact of those circumstances formerly. I even have them on the domicile exterior. each little thing is in basic terms too plastic immediately so i don't beautify plenty for Christmas interior. in basic terms a gaggle of candles and clean poinsettia everywhere. No Christmas tree.

Why not get a fibroptic one, you will only need to put a few decorations on it then. (if at all) Don`t make the mistake though of putting chocolate decorations on the tree. I put some on one year when my kids were little and told them off when they started to nick `em off it, so they decided to nibble them whilst they were still hanging on it!

I have two toddlers myself and what I am doing is getting them to help me put up the pretty lights. They are loving it so much, they got to help grandma put up her lights yesterday and today they are helping mom and big brother put up lights in our house. I just tell them not to play with them they are to look at only and if they play with them they can get hurt. Once the lights are up you just want to keep an eye on the kids to make sure they don't play with them but they should be fine, just have them help you hang them. You can have them hold one end of the lights, or older toddlers can hold the tacks or tape and give it to you when you ask for it. My three year old helped give me the tacks for our lights and she also held one end of the garland and lights. The only things you would want to be really careful of is the breakable decorations and the small ones, they can get hurt or choke on them. So if you have breakable or small decorations, keep them up high and out of kids' reach. Otherwise, just have them help decorate with the lights and garland. They'll love it! Mine do! Good luck.

Yes, you can..just make them aware that there not to be taken off the tree. Glass decorations are hard for any child to resist. they see themselves in them.try avoiding those.
