There is no set way of doing anything regarding weddings and marriage now a days but here is a tip ...
He buys you an engagement ring
The two sit down and decide on a ring budget.
What can you afford and what can he afford? What kind to you like and what kind does he like? gold? silver? Do you want a wedding band or do you what a band that complements your engagement ring?
After you have answers the two of you go out shopping for a wedding ring.
You can buy his and he can buy yours.
A few days before the wedding the two of you get the rings fitted, and pay the last payment and take them home.
The day of the wedding. You give the Maid of Honor the grooms ring and he will give the best man your ring.
The next time you see them you will be at the alter.
Happy Wedding:)

When you get engaged the guy gives you an engagement ring---he then buys the wedding band...you wear the engagement ring in the ceremony then the band is placed with it (generally the band goes on the bottom--closest to the heart, but this can be changed after the ceremony before pictures), I think most times the bride-to-be purchases the groom's band, I strongly suggest is he's got a job working with his hands--mechanic, metal worker-any job where his hand can be smashed--not buying a expensive ring, if the hand is injured through a job related accident most times the ring is cut off...good luck! Also you can go into any jewelery store in any mall and ask tons of questions.

At the time of proposal the groom places the engagement ring on your left hand ring finger. It stays there 'til your wedding day. The groom supposed to pay for all the rings but the two of you have to go together to the jeweller to choose the matching wedding rings. The ones you are planning to wear for a lifetime. This one placed on your finger by your future husband in church.

You should have the engagement ring at the time of the proposal. The wedding ring is often purchased at the same time but will wait until the ceremony to be presented. If it is to be a double ring ceremony than the woman gets a ring for her husband.
the Groom is supposed to purchase the brides rings, her flowers and the liquid refreshment at the reception. Sometimes they are responsibel for a limo for the groomsmen but not always.
Today many couples go half on everything and pay for the weddings themselves.

The man purchases the engagement ring and wedding band for the woman, and the woman buys the wedding band for the man.
Just look at it this way the woman only has to pay for the mans ring and it is a heck of a lot cheaper than the woman's ring!

The groom should purchase an engagment ring to present to the bride when he proposes. Then, he should also purchase a matching wedding band, which he gives to the bride as part of the wedding ceremony. After the wedding, the bride would wear both rings together.
The bride is responsible for purchasing a wedding band for the groom which is given to him during the ceremony as well.

When the man proposes, he gives you an engagement ring. For the wedding, you buy wedding bands for one another.
