What is it in your heart or mind that causes you to refuse to trust God regarding things you don't understand or like so you can have faith? Sin perhaps? The Word says thats exactly what it is.
Sorry for answering the question.

You can take an intelligent and positive perspective on the Bible. And one of faith. Lots of people are doing it and you know it.

Jen1982ev - Foolish assumptions. All based on your false premise that creation did not have a Creator.

andymcj66 - When you recognize the reality of our Creator, his word will cease to be absurd and impossible to you. Your still looking at reality through your prism or false premise that creation did not have a Creator. The Word doesn't say unbelief is foolish for no reason.

because I wasn't brainwashed by christian-cult parents while growing up, and I was able to read it and study it without a brainwashed, mindless, blind-acceptance of it as fact. i could be as objective about it as I am anything else that I study. thus, I was able to see it for the cultist, ridiculous, erroneous mythology book that it is.

it is probably one of the biggest practical jokes ever played on mankind -- it's been here for almost 2000 years and still over 70% of the people on earth reject it!! go figure -- it was edited and compiled in 325-AD by a council led by a pagan roman emperor, who put it together primarily to grab as much political and territorial power as possible. and, it worked!

The Bible is just a collection of myths. Anyone who believes that the God of Abraham is a real god is suffering under a weird delusion. Do you really think that a real god capable of creating the universe would be so petty, jealous, cruel, and demanding? That he would make so many arbitrary and unjust laws (see Leviticus and Deuteronomy) and then change his mind about them later, but do it in such a way as to leave his followers confused as to which ones still applied?

The God of Abraham is of the same genre as the Greek gods that all of us now acknowledge are myths. Someday you Bible believers will finally grow up and realize that.

From a purely intellectual viewpoint I find it impossible to accept the validity of scripture. Heart doesn't come into it-it isn't a subjective opinion it's an objective opinion that there are too many inconsistencies and absurdities for me to believe the bible is a divine revelation.
