I myself am in a LDR, a long distance relationship if you may...and the only reason why we're still together after he went away for almost 6 months, is cuz we're both faithful and honest...
If you really want to keep in touch with him and stuff, more power to you. But it's not easy...there's a TON of hurt that comes with it...
You should only do it if you know that he's into you and you can stay loyal to him...
Guys can say that they love you and stuff, but remember about your pride too, if you get too deep into it, you could really regret it...trust me.
Good luck mija!

Absolutely no reason it couldn't work as long as both individuals involved are truly committed. Therein lies the big question. Does he want the relationship as much as you, and is he as committed as you? If so, go for it! If not, become a better person anyway and save yourself the grief down the road.

Eh. I tried it before, and it's quite hard. You need to be able to see each other sometimes. If you can't see each other at least every other month, there is no reason to be wasting your time. There are plenty of other fish in the sea.
I know, I'm kinda cynical. It also sucks if the person you were dating breaks up with you through email. Blah...
But, good luck to you.

maybe, you guys must have an intense devotion to eachother. I'd be friends until he gets out of the Navy though,

My buddy was in a relationship from an internet friend in Russia, but a language barrier, and the Russian's lack of frequent internet access forced him to end it, they are friends still.

it seems that most relationships dont work out to well but there are some exceptions. Another problem may be that you fell in love right away....how well do you really know this guy?
Its easy to go head over heals for someone but dont let your emotions get the best of you....
nobody want you to get heartbroken

Yes, I had one for two years and now I am married to her. But they are extremely difficult and expensive. So if you can, try not to get into one.
