At the end of a flight, why do the flight attendants say to each other "1 L, 1 R, 2 L, 2 R"? What does that mean? Just curious. Anybody know?

Each flight attendant has a door disarming responsibility. WHen one disarms the door, they are essentially turning the escape slides off. If a door was opened without this being done, the evacuation slide would engage.

So, the lead flight attendant places an "all call" to the other flight attendants on arrival, and each flight attendant verifies by they have disarmed their slide by stating the door they have disarmed.

They are talking about doors/passenger rows that have been 'secured', ie checked and are okay for landing.
