A $34 hat seems like fabulous gift, especially if your friend really wants it. The gift card isnt necessary and may just be overkill.
Don't forget to wrap the hat really nicely!!

Well this a sliper way out of it give her the gift card and if she likes and you can tell not just the o gee thanks then just keep it and return the hat but if she doesnt have a good reaction say i acidently left the other gift at home im soo sorry! then give her the hat i do it all the time lol

if you're close friends and you want to (and can afford it) do both, otherwise one or the other... get her the hat if you can and if you can afford the extra mile for the gift card get that too.
