Try looking on E-Bay. You'll be surprised what you can find in there and most of them will be delivered, at cost.

Start with a good bicycle shop. Mtn bikes take a beating, so don't even consider a big box store bike unless you want to be visiting your son in the hospital.

Good make and cheap makes no sense. For a "good make" go to a quality bike shop. For a "cheap" bike go to Walmart or Kmart.

what do you consider cheap?
don't forget you get what you pay for
you could somewhere around $500-$1000 and get a Kona or a Giant
also it depends on what type of riding your son plans on doing

yes apollo they are halfords own make i have a apollo bike it is brilliant and i am an experienced mountain bike rider and these bikes are very good
