own prescriptions? Or do Dr.'s have to go see another Dr. when they are sick?

Actually they can write their own scripts although it is frowned upon. My brother is an MD and has written himself scripts for antibiotics and nonscheduled meds. I know he would never write anything that was a narcotic etc.. If they abuse this right they could lose their dea license to write scripts all togeather. They say the worst doctor is one who has himself as a paitient.

You cannot legally write your own prescriptions. You would have to ask another doctor to do it for you. it can be a friend or partner, but you cannot legally write your own, otherwise you could write prescriptions for narcotics and sell em on the street. it's kinda like a checks and balances thing to prevent abuse.

A doctor can write his/her own prescriptions although it is something that should be avoided.
