veraperez... - You are wrong, that is a myth. The money saved by employers is not reflected in the price of the product, it is pocketed by the company.

No. Like you say, I have sources to prove the negative effects, reams and reams of them ... and not one positive one ... can only come to the conclusion that for the ordinary men and women of this nation, there ARE no positive effects ....

If you are drowning and someone throws you a rope and pulls you into shore and saves you for the moment and then the "rope" you realized that pulled you to shore is a deadly poisonous snake and it bites you and you die a slow, painful death ...writhing in agony, you may be able to see the relativity in this story and the damaging, influx of illegal immigrants.
It may be good to have some cheap labor today to make some quick $$$$$$ but after a short time all those cheap workers start making trouble, causing damage in untold and unimaginable ways and ultimately kill the very system that they briefly benefited in the beggining.
Kinda like booze or drugs. Love that first drink or high but later when you are hooked on drugs or have become an alcaholic and your heart and liver are fried and you die in misery ....you wish you had been either moderat or controled in your intake of such "poisons" of pleasure.
This is the lagacy of illegal immigration (mostly from Mexico)
It was an innocent act of greed by American leaders and corporations in the beggining and has become a tidal wave of averace and destruction to the destruction of the USA.
So in answer to your question. What is GOOD? is a relative thing to time. What may be good for a quickie or in the moment ...may not be so good in the long run.
Short sightedness is the weak link in Democracy and Capitalism. IF you don't keep track of the understanding that the legacy and longevity of the organism is always paramount; in short order you will not be able to keep your fingers filling the holes in the dike and you will drown and be washed away by your short sightedness.
Sadly for everyone, including the illegals: this is what is happening/has happened in AMerica.

It all comes down to cheap labor, which is why it is almost impossible to enforce it 100%. Everyone is happy as long as they only arrest 5-20 guys at a time and drive them back across the border.
Instead of doing that, send INS to every business in LA and have them pick up all of their illegals. In an hour you'll have a huge political mess in your hands, you will have everyone that gives money to the politicians pissed off because their cheap labor is gone. Notice I said just LA, just as an example. You wouldn't be able to do this on a national scale, there are more illegal immigrants in this country than INS agents available to pick them up and deport them.
You can't even punish the businesses. Cut out the supply of cheap labor and McDonnalds and BK won't be able to sell you $5 meals. Walmart won't be able to keep their warehouses stocked, etc.

Well, one positive thing that's come of all of this is that there's a wider awareness across the country that global population growth isn't just a problem in some other country, anymore...
it's also helped people rediscover their city and state officials, always positive, and it has helped Mexico economically, if not socially...
Ultimately, I think illegal immigration's one of those things that'll blow itself out, but that eventuality can be reached more rapidly through things like border and employer enforcement. As Bush said, 'we are a nation of immigrants, but we're also a nation of laws', and people need to realize and understand that a century has passed, now, since the days of Ellis Island and so forth, and there's 3 times as many people in the US, and 6 times as many people in the whole world as there were back them, and that some of these demographics changes are irreversible.
I think the sooner Mexico decides they really need to do it, the sooner we'll see a lot better situation with the whole immigration thing...but they're a country with 2 presidents, right now, kind of like that book 'heather has 2 mommies', now there's 'Mexico has 2 presidents'...I really don't blame people for having hopped the border, there's some Real Problems in Mexico, but the only way for them to be fixed is for the people themselves to stop, dig in, and fix them. That will be Hard Work...

first and maximum stunning, enforce the regulations that we've on the books with unlawful immigration. The superb courtroom could desire to overturn the 14th substitute loophole that facilitates anchor toddlers. we could desire to continually construct a fence alongside the Mexico border. Tighten down all the forces that are pulling unlawful immigrants to this u . s . a .. whilst we've satisfactorily tightened down the border, we are in a position to than look at what to do with whoever is right here. Deport all individuals who's in detention center and unlawful. all human beings else as charge to grow to be electorate could desire to the two could desire to serve in the militia or serve in some style of federal government application. After tightening down the border we are in a position to additionally take a glance at our cutting-edge criminal immigration equipment and attach any issues that are presently affecting it.

I'm Italian(I live in Milan). In my country there is the same problem.
I think that illegal immigration is deleterious for the society from an economic point of view.It produces a general uneasiness.
But every time I say that illegal immigration is negative, there is somebody who accuses me of racism.
I'm talking about ILLEGAL immigration.I'm not referring to people of a particular nationality.
Objectively this uncontrolled immigration has generated more criminality and poverty.
We need laws characterized by more severity.

You're sneaky because while there are no sources for supporting illegal immigration, people still have their reasons whether you like it or not. And obviously they are here regardless of whether they are contributing positively or negatively. Why dont you try coming up with realistic solutions instead of trying to stir up trouble with these senseless questions!!

It depends on your perspective. There aren't any positive effects for America, that couldn't be gotten legally.
It is definitely positive for Mexico. They send 39 Billion dollars home to Mexico each year. Not taxed and not spent here. (bad for America)
Its positive for smugglers...they are getting rich. Breeds crime, corruption, and drugs. (bad for America)
Its positive for big business and corporations; they don't have to pay benefits or taxes for illegals. They can keep the wage down. (negative for America)
Its positive for slum lords, illegals are afraid to be deported so they don't report the crappy houses. That leads to ghettos (negative for America)
