"These children need food, medical care, schooling, and a place they can call home. They need love, care, and nurturing. People who will sponsor them in Jesus' name, and give them a secure future. People who will raise them in Christian homes and prepare them to be productive citizens of Zimbabwe."

it is a zombie charity.

" Come to us, and we shall make you the lord, his children.
come with us, you need not be Africans with your own idea of religion...
come with us, see the light, and we'll give you some food!"

blatant blackmail, there..... "Don't worship with the Xtians, don't get any food."

definately something wrong....

It's confusing. Are they asking (American) people to adopt Zimbabwean children? Are they donors adopting by distance or proxy, as in Save the Children? Is this an orphanage? Do Zimbabweans adopt and the donors supply the money? The contents are not clear.

If there's an Encyclopedia Brown type clue that reveals these people as phonies, I don't see it.

If you're saying that it's wrong to sponsor the raising of Zimbabwean children as Christians, I don't agree with you. However, if you're arguing against a Christian raising as a condition of receiving help, I sure see your point.

I'd have to know lots more about who gets the money, what percentage actually gets to the children who need it, and who's going to take these children in??? The whole thing is ambiguous and I never send money to any organization without knowing specifics. Another issue I have is this.....Don't fly over a mission field to get to a mission field.
As long as there are children in my country who need food, medical care, and homes....that's who I want to help.

I do not know crap about religion but I can only say that I am sick of people taking care of all these foreign people when we have millions of poor American kids and families we could and should be helping first. Maybe just maybe if we concentrated on our own people we could wipe out poverty in America and then would have just that many more people to help the foreign people.

There are legit operations doing that kind of work in Africa... But check with the mission orginization sponsoring... and with the Church afiliation in the home country that they claim affiliation with... send the mone to the Sponsor not directly ... but only if it checks out every possable way....

I know what you are trying to get at....another Christian bashing question.
Christians have always believed that you meet a persons physical needs first, then tend to their spiritual needs.
The saying used to be...soup, soap, then salvation.
One answer here is trying to portray a Christian dangling a sandwich in the face of a starving person and telling them they have to accept Jesus to get it. Not True.
This ad you are quoting is talking "To Christians" who should be tending to the needs of the world in Jesus' name. To represent Him in acts of good will. The Bible tells us to go throughout the world spreading the gospel, which means "Good News".
What is so wrong with that? You are twisting it all around.
If it bothers you, go give to the organization of your choice. Just give and quit wasting every ones time by nit picking and being so negative.
