The Mother is carrying Type A blood type and the father is Type B blood type.

YES! It is possible because the mother's genotype can be "Ao" and the father's genotype can be "Bo" Therefore, there is a 25% chance that they can have a child that has the genotype "oo." That means that the child's blood would be type "O."

More info:

Basically, the mother and father can carry the recessive gene ("o") and still be blood type A & B.

Mother: Ao = A
Father: Bo = B
Child: oo = O

yes blood groups are assingned two 'letters' - A O, B O, A A, B B, A B or O O. Each parent has one of these combinations and passes one of the letters to the baby. So if the mother is A O and the father B O, the child could inherit both the O's making them blood group O (you have to have 2 o's to have o blood group). I hope this makes sense! If not feel free to message me.

Meja is right... if one parent is AO and the other is BO then any child born to them has a 25% chance of becoming O as well as 25% chance of having A, B, or AB blood types.

If you meant however that one parent has type AB blood then no their child can not have type O blood... they have to pass on either the A or B allele... but I just saw your extra info so this doesn't matter

Yes it is possible. With type A you have one allele of A and one allelle as i (which is for type 0) With type B you have one allele of B and one of i(type 0) so if you have an Ai plus a Bi you woule end up with 1 AB, 1Ai (A), 1Bi (B), and one ii (0). That means that it is a probability of 1:4 to get a type O blood type child.

Blood types also depend on the history of the family...

Mendelsons Chart would give you the work up if you knew all the blood types of all the distant relatives in your family history and hers...

Yes, it IS possible to have that type for the kids!

My Wife and I both have type A and both my kids have type O...

(Don't let those who think they "know" steer you around to think that maybe your wife was fooling around just because of differentiating blood types for the kids, because its not just the two of you that are involved, but everyone in your lineage).

I wish you well..

yes..very possible..it would just mean that both people were heterozygous..meaning they were dominant A or B but also carried a non dominant allele for type O..so the child got a recessive type O allele from each parent

Yes
the mother is Ao = A
and the father is Bo = B
so their child is oo = O

Yes, your child is probably type "O" because:

1. Blood type "O" is the most common blood in Earth
2. Type "O" is the strongest blood
