I believe that diabetes may be a disqualifier to join the military. I know several people that were diagnosed during their service (including my brother in law, serving in a navy helicoptor squadron in San Diego), but I never knew anyone that had it when they enlisted (and knew about it)

no. If you develop it once in, you MIGHT be allowed to stay in, but you cannot enlist with either type of Diabetes.

if its a prior condition to enlisting, then NO they wont let you in...if you develope it while enlisted, they will let you stay, you usually have to be cleared by a doctor to make sure your diabetes is not life threatening
