What is she doing with the feathers? Sometimes they line the box with the feathers. If all the other feathers look good nothing to worry about they don't ussually take out all the feathers. If she has only moulted once I suspect she is too young to breed. A budgie should not breed before 1 year old at least because of egg binding. What colour is her cere? If it is now a chocolate brown she is in breeding condition but I would not let her breed if too young.

Let me see if I can HELP. First of all all Birds MOULD approx. every 6 months. Sever temperature changes ,seasons of the year . It is a natural state and not to be worried about. The feathers will replace themselves in a few weeks.
Now, if this is a stress situation. Yes, you read this correctly. Stress for birds is VERY common. Sudden changes in routine, loud noises, a new bird in the cage or just near by. A mate that is abusive all these different things could cause what we call FEATHER PLUCKING. The bird in this instance will usually not just stop at the tail;. It will pluck large areas of it's body. You will have to deside ,is this natural feathers are always lost. Or is this stress.??? Good Luck.

She is very young to have a breeding box so take that out for the time being. Also does she like her mate? Just because they are opposite sex does not mean they will like each other. And she could be getting stressed if he is too eager with her.
I had a cockatiel who pulled all of her feathers out and this was just after laying eggs. None of her eggs hatched and I think this stressed her a lot so I took away her breeding box and she got a new mate and is happily preening away all of her new feathers.
Also check her for mites. Birds do get mites which are very irritating to them. If it is mites you can get a spray for them. You can also get a disinfectant for the cage so as to make sure that this is clean.

Sounds to me like she could be stressed or prehaps bored. I have a male budgie that pulled some of his feathers out recently but that was due to stress as we are in the process of moving house. If its not stress has she got enough toys to play with.?

Check the nestbox. Has it got feathers init? She maybe pulling out her feathers to make a soft warm bedding to lay eggs in. You can buy materials for the nest box to help her make it warm n cozy and easier for you and her to clean.
She also could be bord!!! I know you said she has a boyfriend, but have you got enough toys in the cage for them both. A mirror is a fasinating toy that budgies can spend hours talking to themselves at and doing their little bobbing movements. "God i miss my Budgies".

My family owns chicken farms, and we see animals doing this very often. Sometimes they do it because of stress, or to line it's nest, or sometimes if the feathers are damaged they will pull them out.

You need to get the box out.
Here is a good resource for finding a vet in your area to help you care for your birds:
