Which item is wrong?

1- C ("they are" not "he is")
2- D (not AND but "BUT ALSO")
3- C ("serious" not "seriously")
4- Not sure about this one, but D looks wrong because of the spelling, it should be "itself" not "it self". But "great quantities" can also be replaced by "great amount". I'm not quite sure about this one.

1: B. It should be 'his own', or 'his or her own', depending on how sensitive one is about sexist language.
2: C. It should be 'but also'.
3: C. It should be 'serious disease'.
4: The sentence itself is worded a bit oddly, but D is the most problematic; it should be 'itself'.
