This country is going down the tubes mate, and we need to do something about it fast. Its people like your daughter who get the short end of the stick.Honest, hard working citizens who really need the benifits for what they are there for,SUPPORT,not just to greedily sponge for a living their whole lives. All the best to you and your daughter, and I hope you get some help for her.

I sympathise entirely, when I was seventeen I decided to take a year out of college and work to build up funds for the next academic year. After working for three months I was involved in a pretty nasty motorcycle accident and broke my right arm and left wrist and several other nasty bruises etc etc.........Leaving me with both arms in plaster and a pronounced limp until the muscle tissue in my leg healed. I then approached the DSS who told me I wasn't eligible for statutory sick pay as I hadn't built up sufficient tax credits (at 17) and that I would have to sign on to job seekers allowance, and that despite my injuries I'd still have to actively seek work. My motorcycle was now a right-off and I had to, twice a week hop, skip and jump onto a bus and attend interviews to seek work. The prospective employers thought it was a sick joke and so did I.

That is ****** up, now many citizens who have been laid off or need some money to get them by for a few months cannot get it, because illegals are draining the funds

my dad was involved in a strike, and he could not get financial aid, yet illegals who need interpreters always get it.

I am worried about living here after college

All Tony Blairs doing. He has made it far to easy for lazy b*****ds to stay at home and just pop out kids all their lives without ever doing an honest days work. Plus getting free housing, free rent, bills paid for them, benefits and oh yeah having their arses wiped and earning more than us hard working individuals. Great eh?

I know what you mean, Im 24 male no kids work full time and still living at home with parents I cant afford to move out, yet single non-working young mums get free housing - it's all bullshit.

Sorry, why should your daughter get jobseekers allowance? She is a student, not a jobseeker.
