God created us with free will, the ability to choose. However, you are acting as if God didn't even allow you an escape route! He knew that humans would turn against Him, so he made a means of escape from sin and death. Also, even though God gave us a choice, it is not a consequence-free choice. Just like you can choose not to put oil in your car, but the engine will burn up if you don't. That's a natural consequence of making the wrong choice. You can "choose" to abort your baby, but the consequence is that you will suffer depression, alcoholism, drug use, and breast/uterine cancer, and lowered self-esteem. The choices that really matter in life are not consequence-free. Another thing you should know is that the Bible does not say that people will burn in Hell forever. It says that they will be instantly consumed, never to exist again. The idea of an eternally burning Hell does not come from the Bible, but from ancient Greek and Roman paganism. Some people try to use a verse from the Bible that talks about an "eternal fire". The same phrase is used to describe the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Are S & G still burning today? Of course not. But the effects are eternal. So will it be with Hellfire. It's funny how Satan tries to attribute all HIS characteristics to God, while at the same time trying to persuade people that he (Satan) doesn't exist. The person you just described in your question is Satan, not God.

How can we blame god for anything for which he never is or was responsible. Also if understand why are we living the need for satan to exist would appear ok.

Do we all really care for god Almighty... his absolutely magnificent creation! Did God ever advise us to go after materialistic riches of life like a mad dog! Why do we all the time keep ignited our bestial desires!

Is something really amiss with a human being! Have we truly lost our way! Overindulgence in everything undesirable... be one a child or a grown-up... where is the end to it all! We go to the temple, church or a mosque... only to satisfy our cravings!

In the cosmic system the sum total of all at any given point of time must always remain zero. If we have God at plus hundred... we also have Satan at minus hundred. The senses and the mind are under the control of Satan all the time. It is the prayers addressed to God which pave way towards pure spirituality.

How we maintain a balance in our physical form of life is purely dependent upon us. We may limit our materialistic tendencies or we may let them lose is our prerogative. In the present Kali Yuga phase of life we find most do not want to control their inherent wanton desires. Everyone wants to be rich within a day. This gives rise to instability within our body. Sometimes we may feel extreme happiness and at other times the sufferings also follow.

No human being experiences only sufferings. This is just not possible. It is only in the spiritual domain that spiritual masters experience inner peace all the time. If we truly desire happiness and bliss all the time... we must proceed towards our spiritual goal of life and understand the real inner self of us. I am one of those people that believe in God, and Jesus, and that there is a heaven AND a hell. I admit, talking about hell is a tricky and difficult subject, as it seems to go against a God who professes to be loving. But another thing he professes to be is just. And that means that there are consequences to actions.

You question how God could create humans and satan, whom he knew would sin and become 'evil' - he didn't create the evil, he created humans with free wills, and we can therefore CHOOSE to reject God, sin, etc.... Imagine if God were to create humans without the capacity for choice. We would be robots, forced to love God and do everything he wants us to do. God wants a relationship with us. What kind of relationship would that be if we were merely programmed to feel and act a certain way??

Therefore, some humans choose to turn from God and there is a consequence for that action. You might think this is not a big deal and not in need of punishment - but imagine you had a child, and although you loved your child and provided for all of their needs, they chose to ignore you and reject you. You would be pretty hurt, but you can't force this child to love you, as much as you know that you know what's best for this child. Your only option is to LET them go their own way - you didn't create them to be this way...

So your idea of hell is a little off - I don't hink that God will eternallyl 'burn' those who don't believe - that is a metaphor to describe what life would be like without God. Hell is the absense of God and unbelievers will finally get what they already believe - a world without the love and care of God.

I hope you find the answers you're looking for and maybe find out that this God who you think is evil, really is the most precious thing that one can find....

God Bless...

I don't think the definition of god makes a difference in determining whether he/it/she/them could have created good and evil. When you cook eggs, you crack the eggs, maybe beat the eggs, throw them in the pan, mix them up and then they're what they are. Oddly enough, you never get in the pan. Does it matter who cooked the eggs? Could have been Grandma - doesn't seem to have any bearing on what happened in the pan - while the eggs got hot Grandma never did - she's outside the pan.

Here's my explanation of god and man:

STEP ONE: there is no supernatural definition of evil. There are no floating demons. If you look at what people consider to be evil you will find that these things are nothing more than perfectly acceptable behaviors in the animal kingdom (killing, hoarding. stealing, indifference, selfishness). Animals do not get outraged when one of their kind is killed - there is no evil in the animal kingdom - it's all about survival.

STEP TWO: Man was once just an animal without conscience. Therefore in the so called Garden of Eden he was without shame, or the ability to determine that these animal instinctual programs (what you might call evil) were wrong. Why were they necessary? Because the less intelligent man needed to survive toward evolving in to a more intelligent being. He needed to act like an animal - using instinctual programs to survive. Then he figuratively ate the apple a la the serpent (the serpent is indicative of intelligence and wisdom in many creation myths). At that point he had a conscience. The reason for this seems to be that these animal tendencies are no longer necessary toward survival when things like cooperation, self-sacrifice and love can substitute for killing, hoarding, stealing, etc.

STEP THREE: Add a creator. Why would a creator create a system whereby evil exists? Well it seems to me to be quite logical. In order that animals could evolve in to man (intelligent moral creatures), he needed all these so-called evil things to exist toward his survival and evolution. How is it now that he has created good? Well, he may have inserted it (breathed it in to us as the bible says) in to our beings. That is one possibility. The other is that morality and your conscience are natural by products of evolution and that this creator knew when he set this all in motion. In other words, that a moral being would be the end product (or at least a being with the ability (free will) to make moral choices.

DID GOD CREATE GOOD AND EVIL: Yes, it's quite logical that he/it/she/them did. And to create a system of chaos where we have animal (evil) programs and an ability to determine their existence (and uselessness) does not mean god needs to jump in the pan and j0in the eggs.

THE PROBLEM: Most people are taught to define god and morality in terms supernatural mumbo jumbo. Why was this? Because there was a time when we humans didn't know the first thing about evolution. And therefore there was no way to explain what I have just explained. It was necessary to give god human qualities and make him a being to be feared? Why feared? Because this works well with animals. In fact it still works well with animals -- that's why we use jails and the death penalty.

ATHEIST CAVEAT: It is quite possible that a moral being such as we humans could have developed without the need for an external creator. Could be that morality (like dominant genetic traits) developed in man as a means toward survival independent of the existence of any god. Atheists have every right to believe this and until there is some proof that morality was breathed in to us (and not developed) there is no real discussion that can be made one way or the other. What I think is that god could have been and was used as a tool to explain our evolution (both physically and morally) and as a means to control animal behavior. What I question is how what I believe was told simplistically and symbolically (in creation myths which pre-date the bible) when this information concerning evolution was at that time an unknown. I also have a hard time understanding how moral behavior is a better means toward survival then power, killing, hoarding, stealing, etc. I don’t believe it is. And therefore I question how it could have developed in we humans on it’s own accord.

THE SOLUTION: The ultimate solution to all of man's problems is individual personal responsibility. As John Lennon said can you imagine what could happen if all the people just suddenly decided to help each other? If all the wealthy gave some of their money to the poor? If the world began to share what it had instead of hoarding it? If we just said no to killing? Look around the world you can easily see who the animals are.

I understand your viewpoint (apart from calling religious people "morons") but it defies all logic if God created an evil being to lead people astray...

to be honest its this paradox (amongst others) which led me towards atheism... maybe satan got to me too :)!!

Totally agree - also with the Adam n Eve sinning thing - unless your God isn't all powerful, he KNEW they'd sin so they weren't REALLY free, not in his worldview.

Just because you don't like it, doesnt mean it didn't happen that way.
If you KNEW God, you would understand. Althought you can't comprehend, I don't look down on you or insult you. I still love you.
