'Controlling' anger, suggests bottling it up or holding it in, rather than dealing with it. I submit that controlling anger is only a temporary fix, since you're not treating the cause(s), but rather they symptoms.

Many of the previous suggestions were good in showing how to generally feel better, and so be less likely to react in an angry way.

But the best way is to master it, rather than control it. And that comes by mastering yourself.

Try to let it out in a healthy way, like punching a punching bag. That's a lot easier than trying to control anger.

Well what I do is go for a hike. Its perfect. I can pick up sticks and bust them against trees, throw rocks at whatever, push over dead tree's, hike up a mountain and burn that bad energy. There is so much that the woods can do for you. If the woods isn't near by, then that could be a problem. Thats when I would say to take it out on your pillow.

to me, anger and stress are closely related, but simple things like taking a deep breath, and laughing it off, are highly effective. Sometimes I would go to the gym and just work it off...

Works in a volatile environment such as an office, where your anger can be detrimental... to your own performance and to others..

Don't sweat the small stuff, it's all small stuff. You can take a shower, walk or exercise when you are angry to cool off. When you are angry count to 10 and then speak your mind to who ever is making you angry. Good luck.

Controlling it, not letting it control you....you may devote your negative energies into something positive that you enjoy. This will alleviate if not eliminate your stress....
