Hello-

I'm a bit embarrassed and afraid to ask this, but I need some answers. I am a 23 year old overweight male, and recently I found a large black sore on my body. It did not bother me or cause any pain until this morning when I looked at it again and realized it was now a large lump. Upon trying to discern what it was and applying a slight amount of pressure, the lump burst with what could be described with an impossible amount of blood. Normally this wouldnt bother me, however the blood was incredibly dark- nearly black. Upon trying to drain the sore at that point, I noticed a sizeable amount of solid objects coming out as well that I would have described as blood clots. I really need some help with this one, but I cant get a doctor to talk to me since I dont have insurance. Can someone please help me or give some advice?

Sounds like a haematoma - a bruise where the blood collects...when the covering skin breaks, the old clots can be released. If this has left a large hole, then seek medical attention...if it is superficial, then cover it with a dry dressing. If you are worried, then find somewhere that you can get medical advice.

I haven't had insurance in years....single people don't many times and I've never had a problem getting the medical help I needed. There should be a clinic or doctor that will take you! No, you may not have insurance but they should take you and yes, you will have to pay, but most, if not all reduce the fee when you tell them you have no insurance. Usually there are hospitals that take people with no insurance and ER's have to take you. I can't say what the sore is, but I would be hauling it to the ER, dr. or something A.S.A.P. TODAY! It may not be anything serious, but from your description, I would want that checked and doctored for my own peace of mind if nothing else.

You have a blackhead that got infected. Some will bleed a lot of very dark blood. Keep it clean. Use rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide (not at the same time, alternate). This sore will contiue to drain for days, but it will continue to get better.
Up your Vitamin C intake right now.

Apply disinfectant and triple antibiotic ointment, do this at least 3x a day.
If there is redness and heat to the are there is infection, so you must make sure to keep wound clean.
Go to a free clinic if you have any other symptoms that you don't normally get. Are you diabetic?

This needs to be addressed professionally immediately, you could always go to an ER or a county hospital, they cannot deny you service because you have no insurance! Good Luck!

There's got to be a low cost clinic in your area. GO TO THE HOSPITAL!! They can't turn you away. This sounds like a problem that may not go away without medical attention. Good luck!!

This may be a Tumor... a type of cancer... you could go to a clinic, but I would definitley purchase insurance because if it turns out it is cancer, it would require surgery or radiation, which will cost ALOT!
