Well, I am not sure what a sunny is? but I do know Nissans it maybe a japanese version to the sentra . Anyway the 1.3 and 1.6 is liter size , the old Z cars started out with a 240z which was 2.4 liter then260z= 2.6 liter 280z=2.8 liter and the 300z 3.0liter .
The liter size does not effect the horsepower that much in the japanese cars . They torque them up so the all run good.
The 1.3 will be about the same on gas as the 1.6 . You see the bigger engine wont have to work as hard as the small 1.3.
Good luck i hope I helped you out.
Just some trivia Nissan is the second biggest company in Japan .#1 is the Goverment.
They just don't hit the US market like Toyota

Under hood sticker has the liter of the engine in that sunny. Why not buy a new car? "Tiltia", "Versa in USA" is nice roomy and has modern features you can pair your bluetooth phone and receive calls and answer them with the steering wheel and record memos. Besides the Sunny's are getting a bit old by now.
