I need to have my special drink frozen so that it won't deflate.

forever... its not going to break in the feezer unless you hit it

If your concern is about the liquid part of the thermometer, then you don't have to worry. The temperature inside a freezer is -18 degrees celsius. Both alcohol and mercury (what the liquid part is made of) freeze at a much lower temperature. You simply have to be careful not to break the glass part of the thermometer, especially if it's a mercury thermometer (the liquid part would be silver in colour) because mercury is a toxic substance.

Thermometers are good for temps way below what a fridge or freezer produces.

It won't break because it is designed to measure and withstand temperatures you cannot even produce.

If its a fridge thermometer you can leave it forever.
