you will always find something hilarious in someone else's practices... really it's the same thing as looking at someone's else's traditions, culture & what have yous... (even with another's language or the food they eat)
it's funny though, that to other peoples of the world (or to persons of another faith) the very things you do each day is just as hilarious...
people jumping up & down, waving & screaming their heads off like mumbling fools at a rock concert, at a wrestiling match or an NFL game would look equally hilarious to a person from South America, Asia, or Africa.
if some Christians (or people of other faiths) do that for their "God"--what's wrong with that? people do that to mere men...
(be open minded, read books, travel the world, study history, philosophy, sociology,... & be more informed)

I haven't seen the movie yet. But I can say, I know what most people think about Pentecostal/ born again christian/ non denomination church services.
Sometimes in the movie they over acted it, it's how Hollywood pictured/mocked Christianity. It's not like that at all.
When we raised our hand, it's to worship God. When we dance it's to worship God. David in Psalms did it for God.
Maybe you should go to biblical non-denominational church sometimes or Assembly of God's churches, then you'll se the real church service.

I have been to several born-again services as my father-in-law is a born again. Even when I was still a Christian, I didn't like the services. The born-again services I have been to have several marriages wherein one or both parties of the marriage cheated on their partner with a member of the church. Several of them were in church with a hangover. Many wouldn't speak to you as soon as you left the church parking lot. And speaking in tongues? I've always found it odd that these people are struck by God but ONLY during the one hour a week where it would be acceptable. When I see someone in the middle of Wal-mart speaking in tongues, maybe then I'll revisit my Christian upbringing... but probably not.
Blessed Be.

That wasn't a real Christian reference, it was a mockery of a revival service. If you just want to bash Christians, I understand.
You can't destroy their faith, you can't change them into mean-spirited pagans, nor will you convince them that they are wrong to worship the Lord who created the earth.
I know that you will keep trying, but it won't convince any of them to change their whole life...God is stronger and mightier than you and your little remarks.

Your post is childish.
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
I am praying for you.

Any religious practice, seen through the eyes of a non-believer, looks peculiar.

I guess that would depend on how funny you find an eternity in hell, amongst the smell of burning skin and the cries of those burning.. If you find humor in that than I would assume YOU would find the service in which a person turns their life around for the good, to be VERY hillarious...
