Religious theologies are many, and so are the reasons for rejecting them. If I had to pick just one (which is hard to do)... it would have to be that it simply makes no sense. If there were a creator, he/she/it could certainly do better than the multiple "prophets," conflictied writings, and power hungry leaders that represent many religions today.

Besides, I like to sleep in on the weekends...

Every religion is primary a following. Question of accepting or rejecting it does not arise.

If we try and understand the primary difference between Religion and Spirituality all becomes crystal clear.

Religion is "absolute truth of life" of the physical manifested world. It is Religion and not Spirituality which forms the basis of the present society we live in. In the present the needs for following a Religion being at its minimum... it is easy to follow any Religion. Anyone... even a layman can follow any Religion but not Spirituality?

What vastly differentiates Religion and Spirituality? Religion... if it forms the core of the physical manifested world... it is the Spirituality (the truth of our Soul within) which upholds the values in the society. Without Spirituality the physical manifested world cannot sustain for long but in the absence of religion... the society can survive on its own.

The difference between Spirituality and Religion is the most often asked question on the net. For a layman both seem to be the same. All one has learnt since childhood is going to a temple, mosque or a church for praying to God. What other purpose can Religion have for one who is ignorant of different facets of Religion? One inherently follows Religious practices from the start. One may be born a Hindu but may be a strong believer of Christianity. Why does one change over?

If Religion provides succor to one: why the dissatisfaction while following one Religion? Is there something beyond the mundane, which we cannot see? Why one needs to go to a church, temple or mosque and pray to God? If we do not follow the religious practices ... shall we be doomed to die a terrible death? What if I do not want to follow any Religion at all? Live a lively Life with compassion for all beings. Why would God bring me death if I do not commit any sin? Hypocrisy, and not just because of the Ted Haggards of the world, but of those who are the most "faithful". Those who "know" that what they place their faith in is true.

And yes, it is odd how "religion" is usually connotated to "Christianity". Generally speaking, Christianity is the one religion that has been a cause for destruction throughout history. Only now is Islam coming into the picture.

One has never seen a vigilante Taoist, Jew, Wiccan, Shinto, or Buddhist.

Well, i'm pretty much religious in the same that the original Mr. Einstein was.

The more I know about how the universe works, the more religious I am, really, because I find sacredness in LIFE in its myriad wonders.

So that's why I accept Paganism as my religion.

Same single reason I "accept or reject" anything.
I has to be true based on my OWN observation and experience. It has to be true for me.
I call this personal integrity.

I don't reject religion but I'm far from killing my self to protect it because I haven't been presented with any solid evidence as proof of it. Till I see such evidence I believe science.

no longer that i've got self belief in burning books in any respect, yet.... I questioned how many burned qurans that day the FL church became into meant to burn them? you're precise once you're saying its basically spoke of as a faith of peace by nonmuslims who've on no account examine the quran, or by nonradical muslims, or by mendacity muslims. There are radical Christians (Westboro Baptist), nonradical Christians, and mendacity Christians. Are Westboro Baptists bodily violent? have not heard something that they are. they're verbally violent, maximum easily, this is basically as undesirable. no person has died from their hatred, in spite of the undeniable fact that. human beings have died from muslim hatred. human beings forget this of their hatred of Westboro. humorous, that. i've got been analyzing up on the history of the Crusades, for the two facets. captivating on incredibly some fronts. One author addressed the thought muslims then have been greater secular of their thinking in newly coming up Islam, than modern muslims set interior the much less assailable concrete of their now regularly occurring faith. It became into seen greater of a cohesive social faith, binding mutually nomadic tribes into forces below one umbrella. They mixed because of the fact of skill, no longer because of the fact of religion. Islam became into greater of a secondary subject to conflict and skills grabbing, the rallying cry you may say. Christianity additionally went by something comparable. besides the undeniable fact that, Christianity is greater of a individual walk. concept in Jesus Christ at once binds people who have not got the rest in ordinary, actual. From what i've got experienced individually, people who do no longer even communicate the comparable language can meet with shared excitement interior the conventional fellowship of worshiping God. The Tower of Babel dispersement had no bring about besides on the worship of God.
