you could try milk of magnesia....

Also, your health care professional could prescribe a topical tetracycline, which is an antibiotic.

If they're particualrly painful, I direct the pharmacy to make for my patients a customized solution of equal parts maaloz, benedryl and viscous lidocaine. that will help w/ any mouth sores.

if they don't disappear w/i 10 days, see a professional; canker sores are 3-4 days; longer could indicate something more serious.

I have the same thing. Not only do I get frequently, they stay for weeks. I got a prescription from my dentist for "Triamcinolone Acetonide". It's a dental paste applied directly to the cancer sore 2 times a day and they go away very fast. The sores also seem to come less often as well. Ask your dentist or family doctor about it and let him know about the problem you are having. There is help out there & I don't know if you will grow out of it.

HI,
THE BEST ADVISE WOULD BE------VISIT YOUR DOCTOR. THERE IS SO MANY OVER -THE -COUNTER- PRODUCTS OUT THERE, YOUR DOCTOR WILL LET YOU KNOW IF ANY ARE BEST FOR YOU OR JUST WRITE YOU A PRESCRIPTION FOR SOMETHING ELSE THAT IS KNOWN TO HELP. CANKER SORES CAN GET REALLY BAD AND MAKE LIFE MISERABLE. DONT MESS AROUND WITH HOME MADE STUFF. YOU CAN ACTUALLY MAKE SORES WORSE. GOOD LUCK AND MAKE THAT CALL ASAP.

I too had canker sores almost continuously from the tween years until my 20's.

You will grow out of it.

You might try Zilactin (sp)? I don't have my trial size pouch here to check the spelling. It helps canker sores heal faster.
